Cleaning the Pre-Filter Sleeve

The AirCore P2's pre-filter sleeve is a washable fabric layer that wraps around the outside of the unit body. It catches large particles like dust, hair, and pet dander before they reach the HEPA and carbon filters, extending their lifespan. Monverta recommends cleaning the sleeve every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your environment.

What you'll need

• Warm water (no detergent, soap, or cleaning products)
• A clean towel
• 24 hours of drying time before reinstalling

Steps

1. Power off and unplug the unit. Always disconnect the AirCore P2 from power before removing the sleeve.
2. Slide the sleeve upward and off the unit body. Grip the bottom edge of the fabric sleeve and slide it upward over the top of the cylindrical body. It is not attached with clips or fasteners — it simply fits snugly over the unit.
3. Rinse under warm running water. Hold the sleeve under a warm tap and let the water flow through the fabric to flush out trapped dust and particles. Do not use detergent, soap, or any cleaning products — these can damage the fabric weave and reduce filtration effectiveness.
4. Squeeze gently to remove excess water. Press the sleeve between your hands. Do not wring or twist it, as this can stretch the fabric and affect the fit.
5. Air dry completely — allow at least 24 hours. Lay the sleeve flat on a clean towel or hang it in a well-ventilated area. The sleeve must be completely dry before reinstalling. A damp sleeve can promote mould growth inside the unit.
6. Slide the sleeve back onto the unit body. Once fully dry, slide the sleeve down over the top of the unit until the bottom edge sits flush with the base. Smooth out any bunching to ensure even airflow.

Tips

• Consider owning a second sleeve so you can rotate them during cleaning. Replacement sleeves are available at monverta.com/accessories.
• If you have pets that shed heavily, clean the sleeve every 1 to 2 weeks rather than monthly.
• A vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment can remove surface dust between full washes — hold the sleeve taut and run the brush gently across the surface.
• Never put the sleeve in a tumble dryer. The heat can shrink the fabric and damage the filtration mesh.
