Battery Not Holding Charge
Symptoms
- Runtime drops below 15 minutes on a full charge (expected: 35 minutes)
- Unit dies mid-clean despite showing a full charge when starting
- Charging light on the dock flashes amber repeatedly instead of showing a steady charge progression
- Battery indicator in the Monverta app shows significantly degraded capacity
Likely Causes
- Battery degradation — lithium-ion cells naturally lose capacity after 18 to 24 months of regular use. This is normal wear.
- Faulty charger or dock — the dock's charging contacts may be dirty or the power adapter may not be delivering full voltage.
- Poor dock contact — the unit is not seated correctly in the dock, so charging is intermittent or incomplete.
- Software glitch — the battery management system occasionally needs a full discharge-and-recharge cycle to recalibrate.
Step-by-step Fix
- Check the dock connection. Remove the unit from the dock and inspect the metal charging contacts on both the unit and the dock base. Wipe them with a dry cloth to remove dust, water spots, or residue.
- Verify the power adapter. Ensure the dock is plugged into a working outlet. Try a different socket. Check that the adapter LED (if present) is lit.
- Perform a full charge cycle. Place the unit on the dock and leave it to charge uninterrupted for a full 4 hours, even if the indicator shows full before that. This allows the battery management system to recalibrate.
- Test runtime. After the full charge, run the unit on a normal clean and time how long it lasts. If runtime is still under 20 minutes, proceed to the next step.
- Check battery health in the app. Open the Monverta app, navigate to your AquaDry S1 device, and check the Battery Health section. If it shows below 60%, the battery has reached end of life.
Important: The AquaDry S1 battery is not user-replaceable. It is sealed inside the unit to maintain the waterproof rating. Do not attempt to open the housing — this will void the warranty and risk water damage to internal components.
Still not working?
If the battery health is below 60% or the unit fails to hold any charge after a full recalibration cycle, the battery needs professional replacement. Contact support at support.monverta.com to arrange a service. Battery replacement is covered under the extended warranty if registered within 30 days of purchase.
