Error Code E05

Symptoms

• Display shows E05 in place of the temperature or cooking mode
• Oven ceases operation mid-cook and shows the error
• Error reappears after clearing and restarting
• A short alarm tone accompanies the error code

Likely Causes

1. Oven temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) has detected an out-of-range reading
2. Cavity temperature exceeded the thermal cutout threshold — possible blockage of ventilation
3. Sensor wiring has a loose connection (typically only after self-install or post-service)
4. The oven was operated at maximum temperature for an extended period in a poorly ventilated space

Step-by-step Fix

1. Switch the oven off at the controls. Do not switch off at the mains immediately — allow the cooling fan to run for 5 minutes to bring the cavity temperature down safely.
2. After the oven has cooled to room temperature (typically 30–45 minutes), switch off at the mains, wait 30 seconds, and switch back on. Clear the error by tapping OK on the display.
3. Confirm the oven is not blocked. The ventilation slot at the top rear of the unit must be unobstructed. Do not store items on top of a built-in oven unit that blocks the exhaust path.
4. Attempt a test heat at 160 °C for 10 minutes. If the error does not return, the cutout was triggered by a transient overtemperature event.
5. If the error returns immediately or within a short heating period, the temperature sensor requires replacement.
